Where to start. Sin city is style style style. And I like style, as a superior of content. So therefore I'd have to agree that I very much liked yesterdays screening of Sin City, the Comic book adaption that has Quentin Tarrantino's hands all over it.

Having seen Kill Bill, you know there's gonna be a lot of blood involved. Make that an awful lot. The horrifying scenes of cut of body pieces come to a point where it's just too much, but this feature set aside, the film is brilliantly original, well acted and perfectly stylized.

How do you adapt a comic book into a movie seems to be a good question. I don't think X men, Spiderman or the up and coming Fantastic 4 do justice to this challenge, but Sin City does. Shot entirely in high contrast black and white, yet using colour (mostly red) as a beautiful highlighting effect. Maing use of drawing- and shadowplay effects, cliffhangers, and lots of voice over thinking of the main characters, Sin City watches like you would read a comic book.

And then there's the cast: Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Clive Owen, Elijah Wood, Benicio Del Toro, Brittany Murphy, Josh Hartnett, Michael Madsen and Dutch Pride Rutger Hauer (also starring in blockbuster Batman Begins this summer) amongst others.

My favorite bit however would have to be the sometimes perfect one-liners and dialogue. Sin City is a quote fiesta so make sure you learn a couple of them by heart.

"She doesn't quite chop his head off.
She makes a Pez dispenser out of him."

If you are able to see through content and a lot, a lot of blood and generally like style excersises as a cinematic experience, this is a movie worth seeing!
